Outstanding VET Sector Journalism Honours a journalist, writer, editor, broadcaster, or podcaster whose reporting has informed and advanced public understanding of Australia’s Vocational Education and Training sector.
Who can be nominated: Journalists, columnists, editors, podcasters, and broadcasters who have published VET-focused content in Australian media during the 12-month eligibility period.
Judging criteria:
• Research depth and accuracy (30%): quality of sources, fact-checking, and evidence
• Impact on sector awareness or reform (30%): measurable change in public or policy response
• Editorial quality and clarity (25%): writing craft, structure, and accessibility
• Breadth of topics covered (15%): range of VET issues engaged with
