The Australian VET Sector Awards employs a robust, fair, and transparent voting process to ensure that each entry is evaluated equitably and the award recipients truly represent the best of the VET sector.

  • Submission of Entries: Nominees submit their entries using the online nomination form. They are required to provide detailed evidence of their achievements, demonstrating how they meet the eligibility and judging criteria.
  • Initial Screening: Each entry is initially screened for completeness and compliance with the entry requirements. Incomplete or non-compliant entries are removed from the process at this stage.
  • Evaluation: The eligible entries are then thoroughly evaluated by our panel of expert judges. The judges score each entry based on the specific judging criteria for each award category. All judges are required to recuse themselves from evaluating entries where they have a conflict of interest.
  • Shortlisting: Based on the judges’ scores, a shortlist of finalists for each category is prepared. These finalists represent the highest scoring entries.
  • Final Voting: The shortlisted entries are then presented to the judges for the final round of evaluation. In this round, the judges review the entries again and cast their final vote.
  • Winner Selection: The nominee with the highest combined score from all judges in the final round of voting is declared the winner in their category. In case of a tie, the award is shared.
  • Result Announcement: Winners are announced during the grand awards ceremony held annually. All finalists are encouraged to attend the ceremony where the winners will be revealed.

Through this comprehensive and multi-tiered voting process, the Australian VET Sector Awards ensures that all nominees are judged fairly and the awards truly represent excellence in the VET sector.
